Modern Warfare 2 had its campaign remastered in 2020, and it was expected that the online portion of the game would also be getting similar treatment. It featured a spruced up, shinier-looking campaign, and a full recreation of the game’s groundbreaking multiplayer component. It was back in 2016 that Raven Software faithfully remastered the historic FPS title Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The unranked servers will launch at a later date.Īccording to a leaker, the long-awaited Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer remaster has been canceled and won’t be following in the footsteps of CoD 4 Remastered. The Open beta will also feature an unranked server browser for players to test out their mods with the community on PC. Treyarch says that over the coming months they will add more improvements to the user experience.

Today, the open beta is now live, and all PC players who own Black Ops 3 can test out the Mod Tools. Originally announced in November 2015, the mod tools have been through extensive testing in closed alpha state with select community members throughout the year.
